Lilac Bear

Evening all.
I haven't had much time for cardmaking today, as I have been helping my 11 year old son build a tudor style house for his history homework - I don't remember having to do things like that when I was a girl.
Anyhow, todays card was made using the sketch for the Totally Papercrafts challenge, designed by Sue, and a mothers day card for the Allsorts challenge.
Hope you like it :o>

Relax

The next card was designed with two challenges in mind.
The first being the Papertake Weekly challenge, that this time was the sketch below, and the second was the Quixotic Challenge ***One For The Boys***, to create a card/project/gift for boys/men.

I've Got That Loving Feeling

Thought I'd try a couple of challenges today.
This adorable little stamp came home from work with me the other day, so I thought I'd try it out for the week 90 Penny Black Saturday challenge, which uses a sketch.
Hope you all like it ;o)

I thought I'd also enter him in the Crafty Catz challenge set by Dianne, she would like to see a fancy edge and a ribbon on the card .

Christmas Has Come Early

I was hopping about the other night, when I came across the ABC Christmas challenge blog. They have had the most fantastic idea of doing a challenge card every fortnight on a Christmas theme using each letter of the alphabet, meaning by the time it actual arrives you have a fab stash of cards ready to send out, saving that last minute panic.
As the totally disorganised crafter that I am, I decided I had to have a go, although my children did give me some very strange looks.
This fortnights letter is E, ( meaning I am already behind, but hey at least I've started now), and for this challenge they would like you to use elves or fairy folk on your card, and the colour combination red and green.
So here's my attempt, hope you like it ;o)

Dads 70th

Well, its dear old Dads birthday today, and as he is still a keen runner, I couldn't resist this stamp from Earnies.
Happy Birthday Dad xx

Lili Of the Valley Challenge

This card was designed for the Lili of The Valley challenge blog, using a fabulous sketch by their teamie Domi.

The challenge is looking for a GDT member to join them for 4 Challenges, the GDT will be chosen by the Design Team, and there is also some candy for one lucky entrant chosen at random by Random.Org so there are two chances to win this week.

Beaded Card

Thought I'd try something different.
This card was made by stamping an Inkadinkadoo image with Stazon onto a piece of white cotton, fraying the edges, then embellishing the image by sewing on beads - it seemed like a good idea at the time.
The fabric was layered onto a piece of plain white card to stop the patterned paper showing through. Finally the design was finished with a die cut Thank You.
Heres to experimenting !!!!

Just entered this card for the challenge at Rainbow Lady's Challenge Blog, the brief was to stamp on unusual materials.

Mini Mens Cards

Just been playing today, making some quick mini mens cards.

The base cards are only 10cm square, so were ideal for these little cartoon images from Earnies stamps, with a bit of promarker colouring, and some matting and layering to brighten them up, they are quick, quirky and I think a good male card standby.

Let me know if you like them :-)

Charming Bear

This card has been designed with two challenges in mind.
The first is The Just Cute Bears challenge, using the sketch below, which has a fabulous stamp on offer to this weeks winner, kindly donated by Cuddly Buddly Crafts.

Thanks to Lisa Jane for pointing me in the direction of the second challenge at Crafty Catz, which is for a lovely cute bear card with a charm on. The prize for the lucky winner of this challenge are some Gorgeous ribbons supplied by Crafty Ribbons.
Hope you like my attempt.
Just snuck in another 2 challenges, one at the Secret Crafter for a Mothers Day card, andthe second at Magical Crafts for a Mum themed card. Think I'm on a roll with this one.

Hog on a Swing

This is one of my recent creations, using a Penny Black stamp.
I have cut out the hedgehog on the swing, and replaced the ropes with garden twine. He has a 2p piece stuck behind him, which has been covered with another stamped image to give him some weight to make the twine hang straight. Then the whole thing has been mounted behind an acetate front.
Now he can sit and swing gently on a mantlepiece.

Popcorn Bear

Morning all.
Thought I'd have a change yesterday, and I made some cards using the Crafters Companion Popcorn Bear CD ROM instead of stamping.
This card uses a pyramage topper mounted into a cantilever card.
This second card is a straight forward decoupage, just matted and layered with toning colours,

and the final one is a fancy folded gatefold.

Hope you like ;-), and have a good day. x

Back To Basics - Matting and Layering

These cards were designed ready for my back to basics, matting and layering class on Friday.
This card takes quite a lot of measuring, but is a simple way to build up a card from leftovers as you only need scraps of patterned paper and some matching card.
This card uses a single stamped image, which has been sliced up to give a more dramatic effect.

This last card was inspired from a tutorial on Splitcoast stampers on brickwork cards. It does take a while to complete, but I think its well worth the effort. Just don't sneeze when you've cut all the bricks, unless you enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles !!!!

Cards For Children

I thought I'd share the cards from my latest class with you. The theme was cards for children under 11, and each was designed with a little surprise.
This card was made using the Ollyfant Princess stamp, which was coloured with my beloved promarkers.

The pop out crown inside was made using a WS template.

The next card uses the Woodware Pirate Mischeif stamp set, which is simply adorable and a must have for cards for small boys.

Inside I made a tresure map explosion.

Finally, the third card uses the new Papermania, Hugs and Honey sheep stamp, and the mini card springs to make his head wobble.

I hope you like them :-)
I've just entered these into the fortnightly challenge at magical crafts .
